Trading
the Eclipse
Wriiten by Pier Gottardello
All we know
the importance of Eclipse in Astrology.
Eclipses of
the Sun ad of the Moon are material, astronomical events, obvious to the naked
eye, and as regular and as predictable as clockwork. They have an evident physical
effect, as the light of either the Sun or the Moon is noticeably dimmed during
the period of the eclipse. This is a scientific phenomenon, one which has been
carefully observed since quite primitive times.
In Astrology,
which studies the cosmic phenomena in terms of their effects on the lives of
beings that inhabit the Earth, an Eclipse is also a psychological, spiritual,
social and emotional phenomenon. This aspect of Eclipses has also been studied
intensely, since before the beginning of civilisation.
The
Astrologer Dane Rudyar said that Solar Eclipse reveals some changements related
to the present and the future while Moon Eclipse is always inherent past, as
the past could be forgotten, removed.
The study of
Eclipse chart give us a general view tied to human mass; Astrologically, Solar
Eclipses signify the fall of the mighty. Depending where in the Zodiac the
Eclipse occurs, stress is always placed on the matters governed by that Sign,
or sector of the Zodiac. A powerful Solar Eclipse can create massive havoc
always in accordance with other aspects.
The eclipse
of the Moon, when the light of the Moon mysteriously darkens at the luminous
height of a Full Moon, has traditionally been viewed as a bad omen. It can
awaken distinctly irrational responses. Since the Moon governs domestic
matters, the public and the emotional personality, rather than leadership, it
tends to have a more personal effect than the Solar Eclipse, which plays a more
outward, even political, role.
However,
speak in general about Eclipses isnt the purpose of this article.
At the
same time, I do not want to write a Class how to use Eclipses for take
overnight position. You can find many good books with this subject (Sergey
suggested the latest Bill Meridians book The Predictive Power of Eclipse
Paths).
Today I
will explain my personal use of Eclipse in day trading.
This
example is based on Dax Future (Eurex) with the time frame 4 minute; I like
4min chart because this time is equal to 1 of Earth rotation.
Open TS
and launch Eclipse Finder module:
We will
use Total Solar Eclipse August 1st 2008 because it was visible in Frankfurt
too.
Frankfurt
Am Main (Germany) isnt shown on the map, so we should move the cursor to find
the exact coordinates (50N07, 8E40); when this is done, click the left button,
and Eclipse Chart over Frankfurt sky will appear.
The
exact time shown in the chart is 11:20:26 GMT 2E
Now
click First Trade Date button and fill the mask with SE data:
press Ok,
then click calculate.
Now open
Events Model Editor (ULE) searching
for Asc and MH cj with the Natal (i.e. Eclipses) Sun:
See how
yellow arrows can help us to buy or sell in breakout with stop below/above the
min/max of the price bar. Naturally this method mustnt be used by itself, try
it together with some confirmation models (astronomy composite, turbo cycle, etc).
Another
interesting variation that needs the perfect time when the Eclipse has happened
in that place is finding cjs (but also trines/oppositions/squares) between
transit Asc/MH and Natal Asc/MHsee below (here only conjuctions):
Hope it
helps to improve your trading.
